Some sci-fi authors tried to make predictions about the technologies of the future in their novels. In the middle of the last century, it seemed reasonable to foresee that by today we would be flying to the Moon in our space vehicles. However, nowadays, we still inhabit the Earth, and our cars cannot sail through the clouds.
Nevertheless, today it has become easier to predict in which direction technology will develop than it was fifty years ago. Created to make our lives better, the breakthrough advancements do not always benefit the people. Unfortunately, there is also the reverse side of the coin, and some of the cutting-edge technologies may be fraught with invisible danger.
