The next chapter of the Star Wars trilogy has finally arrived for our viewing pleasure! But is it as good as the original trilogy? Here is a no spoiler review of the movie.
By “no spoiler” we mean a truly spoiler-free review, except for the names and the existence of spaceships, lightsabers, and robots.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Movie captures us from the very beginning. Throughout the whole film you find yourself grinning uncontrollably over and over. Director Abrams expertly uses the atmosphere that made the old SW movies so fun and catchy.
The first movie of the new Star Wars trilogy has as many spaceship combats and pilot-tricks insanities as possible. Of course, J.J. had presented us with his Guardians of The Galaxy and Star Trek, but they cannot compete with The Force Awakens, with its unique and thrilling atmosphere that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Abrams tries to make all the Star Wars technologies feel completely natural and casual. However, we still see plenty of things that do not work as they should, which reminds us of the Millennium Falcon’s defective hyperdrive in The Empire Strikes Back.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens storyline introduces us to quite a few new main characters. One of the toughest challenges of the film was to make the audience care about these new heroes. And once again, the new Star Wars defied all expectations. After watching the film, we love and empathize with Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, and BB-8 as much as we have always cared for Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie. The new characters have compelling backstories. They create real performances: they use body language and facial expressions to display their feelings and to show what is hidden inside of their dialogues. Star Wars The Force Awakens actors did their best to keep the bar high.
Many of us watched the Star Wars the original trilogy, and it took a special place in our memory. Not only do we quote Yoda, we also get a special feeling whenever we see a Star Wars T-shirt on someone. In this way,The Force Awakens is not only a sequel to the original films, but also the continuation of our memories of this immortal series that has been so dear to our hearts all these years.
The new film is yet another perfect example of the classic Star Wars fun. The familiar jokes the new characters make while exploring the galaxy make us love them right from the start. However, the fact that the film has very clear parallels with the original trilogy makes it less of an independent movie but rather a nostalgic tribute to the whole Star Wars series.
